Curse God And Die!
By Mark Flippo
Job 2:9 (NIV)
His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”
Wow Job! He must have been quite a man! He lost almost everything he worked so hard to get. If you ever lost all in a house fire or flood or any other disaster you can begin to understand how he was feeling. All of his animals were gone. His children all dead! If you're a parent and you have lost a child you can empathize with him!
Job lost somewhere between ten and fifteen children.
The pain must have been crippling. How broken he must have been. He had those that acted like they were friends but weren't. His wife was so angry and hurt that she lashed out at him. "Just curse God and die!" In spite of all of this he never once blamed God! He only said "Naked I came from my mothers womb and naked I will die." He only gave God the right attitude.
He never brought Him down to our level so he could complain. How do you react when you are tested? Do you feel like Job and you do not complain? How is your Christian character? Are you growing or have you become stagnant? Hold your head up high when you are tested and Praise our God in spite of what is going on around you!
