Do You Understand the Difference between Healing and Miracles?
In the passage of 1 Corinthians 12 we observe that among the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit we found gifts of healing and working of miracles. This proves that gifts of healings are different from working of miracles. There are some basic differences between healing and miracles. One of these is that the purpose of healing is to recover function of some organ or tissue that the individual already has in his (or her) body.
But in the working of miracles there is an instantaneous creative formation of a new organ or tissue, or it happens when something disappears from the body such as a tumor.
Let’s see some examples: when a bolt joining in a fractured bone disappears and, in its place, there is a perfect bone, or when a tumor disappears, or when a missing arm grows, this is working of miracles. On the other hand, when a bad functioning organ begins to function perfectly, or when an injured tissue is recovered this is healing. However, I believe that the major difference between healing and miracles is that miracles are instantaneous and divine healing is not always instantaneous.
